Job description
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of data engineers, ensuring smooth and effective delivery of data-related projects and initiatives. Take charge of managing timelines and resources to optimize project execution.
- Lead the creation and deployment of a robust enterprise data architecture designed for on-premises environments, constructing end-to-end data pipelines that handle transformation, ingestion, processing, and data presentation for large-scale applications.
- Work alongside business development, data science, and engineering teams to create data-driven solutions. Partner with IT and development teams to integrate these solutions seamlessly into existing systems while collaborating with data governance teams to ensure high data quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Promote and implement best practices across data engineering processes, including data modelling, ETL workflows, data warehousing, and pipeline development.
- Foster team growth by conducting regular performance evaluations and offering mentorship and development opportunities.
Qualifications
Background / Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in data engineering with solid experience designing and implementing data architecture within enterprise environments.
- At least 2 years in a leadership role, overseeing data engineering or data management teams, with proven expertise in guiding data strategy and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Skilled in working with on-premises technologies and proficient in the end-to-end data engineering stack, from data collection and analysis to visualization, production, and monitoring.
- Deep understanding of reporting requirements, data exports, API integrations, and data visualization tools.
- Strong data governance and compliance standards knowledge, with a background in building strong client relationships and handling project management responsibilities.
- Experience managing Proof of Concept (PoC) projects and effectively showcasing solutions
- Tech Stack: Proficiency in Python, GoLang, Airflow, DBT, Spark, MSSQL, MySQL, Kubernetes (K8S), and GitLab.
